What We Have

At Sunya Giri Orphanage we are trying to provide the children with comfortable shelter and facilities. But so far, the facility can only operate in one building, with electricity and running water, where the children sleep, eat, study and do other activities.

There are eight outside basic bathrooms, eight bedrooms - which only two of them are in proper condition -, eight beds (three bunk beds and five single beds), five dining tables, ten chairs, three cupboards, three bookshelves and a set of living room chairs. A tiny simple kitchen filled with a refrigerator and a stove equips the house.

Sunya Giri Orphanage has been attempting to provide the children equipment to support their education. They now have one set of computer and a set of gamelan and gender (Balinese music instruments). The computer facilitates the children for computer skill training and the gamelan aids them in music and dancing class.

Problem that we face is limited budget. Although we have income for the orphanage from Department of Social Services and other sponsors and we do the best we can with the available funds, we hardly have money for appropriate orphanage facilities maintenance and repairs. We have strong needs to upgrade the current facilities and set up a fund to begin vocational training for the children.
